Fun Diego

Today was day one of my week off.  My school district is on a modified year calendar. In other words, we get a week of in February.  I love this week off!

My vacation started off amazing.  A good friend and I decided to had to San Diego.  Our first stop was the San Diego Safari Park (which I will always refer to as the Wild Animal Park). This has to be one of my favorite places on Earth.  I feel like I grew up here and some of my fondest memories are associated with this place. I cannot say that I care for the recent changes, but I love that I can see some of the world’s most amazing animals in what I hope is a happy setting for them.

Yes, if I could live there I could. I think I would fit in very nicely with the gorillas!

I would love to get a job at the Wild Animal Park in the education department. The jobs are hard to get and I know the benefits are probably not as good as my current ones. But  to work in such an amazing place and educating people would be fabulous.

Of course I took a million pictures and I was so excited to see them, especially the ones with the lions. Do not expect to see any. My camera, memory card, or combo of the two decided to misbehave and now I have no pictures. Actually, I have tons of pictures.  They just all look like this.

I promise you that I take better pictures than this. The lions were out in the sun, laying on the rocks just begging for their pictures to be taken.  I obliged and they did not eat me.  I better not tell them that the pictures did not come out!

After the park, we headed into San Diego to meet up with a friend for dinner. We went to Urban Solace and it was incredibly delicious. I could have have the entire menu twice. Everything on the menu was so tasty. We each had to have a bite of each others meal and closed our eyes in bliss with each bite.  The entire restrurant is cutely decorated and a must stop if you are ever in San Diego.

After dinner we made the short walk to Pigment. This is the cutest store.  It reminded me of Anthropologie without the clothes and a bit easier on the wallet.  Not much though!  It was hard to walk out without a buying a bunch of stuff. I will be back though… after I win the lottery!

Then we had a two hour drive back, but it went by fast with full bellies and tired feet. Somehow we always find a million different things to talk about and Sirius radio always helps.

Such a wonderful day I cannot wait to see what what happens for the rest of the break!
