LA Field Trip

Today was an absolute blast!

My friend K and I started the day with a Starline Bus Tour. We were unsure if we got on the correct tour, but enjoyed the one we ended up on. I think we were supposed to go on the Celebrity Homes Tour, but ended up on the TMZ tour. We saw and learned things about LA that we probably would have never known. I have wanted to do one of these tours forever and it was just as fun as I expected.

The tour was followed by lunch. I was very tempted to cheat on my diet, but I stayed pretty true.  I had a few tortilla chips and that is okay. I had a soup and salad for lunch and it was delicious. K got a smoothie after lunch and I held firm. I actually had a few samples of different smoothies and that I was satisfied. We walked around the and saw Grauman’s Chinese Theater and the Hollywood and Highland mall.

We did not know what to do next, so I looked at my LA list. I keep a list on my phone of places in LA that I want to visit. K was up for anything and I was thrilled. I have wanted to go to Whimsical Alley for years. I cannot remember how I learned about this place and it lived up to my nerdy expectations. K was a little taken about with my nerdiness and I was okay with that! I felt like a kid in a candy store. All the Harry Potter stuff was thrilling.

Next stop was the Witch’s House. I have loved this house forever and wish I could live here. K had never been and it was fun to take her to new places.

Across the street was the Grand Central Market. This place is fun to walk through and has some great people watching opportunities. Every time I go I always tell myself that I will eat there next time… and I never do. To be honest I would have to not eat for a few days so I could eat everything at the market!

K and I then did a drive by the Walt Disney Concert Hall since she had never seen it. We had hopes of getting some cheap, last minute tickets to Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages, but had no luck. We were okay heading home after our long day.

I was happy with my eating decisions. I even made a wise choice with a late afternoon snack. I am finding that it is easier than I thought. There are many healthy decisions everywhere I look. I just have to decide to make the right choice.

I did use my new camera today for the first time. Most of the pictures came out blurry and that is frustrating. I know that I need to practice using it and get used to it. It will take time and that is what the summer is for!
