Blah

It feels like it has been forever since I last shared. To be honest, I have not felt like sharing anything with anyone. I play the game and pretend all is well. On the inside I feel like my work is falling apart and cannot be repaired.

I read a great book by an amazing author, Furiously Happy.

Jenny Lawson has probably my favorite blog ever. No matter my mood, it always puts a smile only face. She has her share of problems and has a way of making light of them. When I feel blue, I turn to Jenny to make me smile. In her latest book, she talked about her friend Christine Miserandino and the Spoon Theory. I could not describe how hard some days are as well as Christine did with the Spoon Theory. Lately I have had a limited amount of spoons.

It stinks.

Then something clicked in me. I have not picked up my camera for months. I did not care that I had spent a large chunk of change on a beautiful new camera. It sat in my bag, taking up space. Then one day I decided I needed to find my love for photography that I lost. I found some local camera classes and signed up. The classes start in January and I am excited.

Then today I did something crazy.

I went on a Photo Walk put on by the same photographer that I will be taking classes from in January. The whole time I was thinking of going I was freaking out. Even this morning when I was all ready to go I tried to talk myself out of it. The whole car ride over I was freaking out.

I honestly was close to a panic attack.

And then it got worse.

I arrive at the meeting place and I was the only one who showed up. My biggest fear had come true. I met with the guy in charge, did a little camera talk, and then we headed off to shoot. We walked around downtown Redlands for about two hours.

Guess what happened?

I had a great time. I took about 200 pictures and only 16 were keepers. But I did not care. The spark was relit. It felt so good to have a camera in my hands. It felt good to walk around and see the world as a picture waiting to be taken. The guy and I had a nice conversation going and I learned a lot.

Head over to my Flickr page if you want to see the pictures. They are not amazing, but I like them.

Then I headed to Lowe’s to buy a new rug. My old one was in need of replacing and the Roomba getting stuck.

So here is the new one.  It is quite a change from the previous one. What do you think?
