After two months of being in a rehab facility my mom is finally home! She is thrilled and I am so happy for her! I helped her pack all of belongings (four bags full!) and waited for my dad to pick her up. If she could have ran out the place she would have! My mom still cannot put any weight on her left foot. She is using a walker and toe touching on the left. She moves really well with the walker. She is able to go to the bathroom on her own. Mom is still limited in what she can do, but she has an appointment with the surgeon on Tuesday and hopefully he will be proud of her progress!
When she got home, her cat was thrilled to her. Maddie sat in Mom’s lap and purred away. I think Maddie was almost as excited to see my mom as my mom was to be home. Maddie is keeping a close eye on mom and followers her around. She is a little afraid of the walker, but deals with it to be near my mom.
I am worried that my mom will fall back I to the same trap as before with her bad habits. I know worrying won’t help the situation, but I cannot help it. I have to set some boundaries for myself so I do not stress myself out.
Easier said than done!
