104 you say?

I picked one of the craziest days to go to The Living Desert zoo.

Yes, you read that correctly.  It got up to 104 degrees!  Animals from the Sahara were complaining it was too hot!

My day was amazing.  It started out with a hummingbird sitting on her nest.

How often do you see that?

The Living Desert is an amazing zoo that I always forget is so close by.  I took a million pictures and sweated a billion gallons of sweat. All the water I drank was sweated out within minutes. Okay, enough about sweat.  Here a few of my favorite pictures from today.

A handsome warthog. I find them adorable!

I love this picture. The zoo has a great model train exhibit.  I noticed a t-rex in the livestock enclosure… with a lamb in its arms!  I had to laugh!

A giraffe making a silly face. Giraffes are always one of my favorites!

Another hummingbird picture.  I love that I was able to catch this one in mid-flight.

The baby zebra. He is only a few weeks old and already running around!

Probably my favorite picture of the day.  It was like the cheetah was posing for me!

When I was driving home there was a big fire that closed the freeway down. I took some side roads and decided to try to get some pictures of the helicopter.

What a great ending to a great day!

What was the best part of the day?  The cold shower that I took when I came home. It was AMAZING!
