Always travel in even numbers

The conference is in its second day and is going a bit better. The sessions are getting better (and nerdier) and I am meeting some great people. I made it to the exhibit hall today, picked up some things to use in my classroom and to try to talk my principal into buying.

Then evening came and I was stuck in the same situation I always find myself In. Everyone had someone to go off with and I was all by myself.

And damn it is Saturday night and I don’t want to spend it by myself!

I refused to spend the night in my hotel room. So I braved the streets of Long Beach and headed to Target to take care of some errands. That lasted a half hour.

What next?

The hotel had a bar, so I headed down to watch the PAC 12 championship game (go Oregon!). I met a few people, had some entertaining conversations, and was back in my room by 10.

So what is the lesson learned today?

Always make sure you have a buddy to hang out with. If only I could find a boyfriend. If only I was not an introvert. If only I was more outgoing. If only I was sluttier.

Yup, I said it.
