Begonia got bit

Today started out great.

It was nice to be back at school.

Bookclub was fun as always.

I come home and see Begonia at the door… holding her paw up.

Now when I saw her yesterday I thought she was limping, but she ran off so fast I thought nothing of it.

When I looked at her paw tonight, it was swollen and she meowed when touched it. Thank goodness my vet is open until 10. I was worried her paw was broken. I was worried she would be in a cast and need surgery. My poor furry baby was in pain.

The vet was busy and I saw pets in all states of medical need. My Begonia was sitting in her crate, quiet as can be. We eventually moved from the waiting room to an exam room and waited. Just like when I go to the doctor. The vet gave Begonia a through exam and then got to her paw.

I knew Begonia would need to get her paw shaved, but it was still a shock to see. Turns out that Begonia got into a fight, was bit in the paw, and it got infected. It looked like it was not broken.

The vet needed to take x-rays just to make sure.

Wahoo! No broken paw!

Begonia still needed surgery to flush and clean the infection. It was only going to take about 20-30 minutes. I left to get something to drink and to get a cookie.

A warm oatmeal cookie helps make things better.

I headed back to the vet to pick up Begonia. She has antibiotics and pain meds to keep her healthy. The worst part of the whole thing. Begonia has to where an e-collar for two weeks.

Two weeks!!!!!

She is not happy.

At all.

But if you look at her paw in the picture you can see her shaved and stapled paw.

And on a completely different note, I am proud to share my Chipotle name.
